Cardiff City have reached the last 16 of the FA Cup for the first time in 14 years, since defeat to Luton Town back in 1994 ended our last run to this stage of the competition.

Yesterday’s 2-1 win over Hereford United sees the Bluebirds go into today’s draw, where Cardiff City will be allocated ball number 16 of 16 remaining teams.

There have been numerous casualties so far, and only 6 Premiership teams remain. Cardiff have a decent chance of facing a ‘big four’ club in the next round, or, failing that should have a decent shot of progressing to the quarter finals.

We have been fortunate to play against Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC in cup competitions recently and have gone close in all three games (excepting the 4-0 replay at Spurs!).

Whilst the league is still the priority, the cup brings in sizable income and is excitement for the fans. Check back later for news of Cardiff’s opponents in the next round, draw to be made at 13.25.
