Cardiff City teenager Joe Ledley will make his 100th appearance for Cardiff City when the Bluebirds host Ipswich Town tomorrow.

The cultured midfielder turns 20 in January and has played consistently for Cardiff over the past seasons after breaking into the team under Lennie Lawrence. Ledley is equally at home on the left wing or in central midfield and has also done a steady job covering the left back position when asked.

Originally from Fairwater in Cardiff, Ledley has lived his dream of playing for the club he has always supported and he had also gained international recognition, winning 11 caps so far and included in all of John Toshack’s Wales squad’s to date.

‘It’s all happened so quickly.’ said Ledley of reaching the milestone.

‘I’m still learning after only a couple of seasons in the first team and this is a great time for the club.’

‘My dream would be to play for Cardiff City in the Premiership at their new stadium and that is genuinely within reach.’

Ledley has 10 Cardiff City goals so far in his 99 appearances and would dearly love to add another on on his 100th appearance – a fantastic achievement for a teenage at Championship level. His performances have been consistent and have even attracted interest from Reading and Arsenal.

Well done Joe, let’s hope he reaches 200 with us in our new stadium and playing in the Premiership.

Could well be, form has dipped recently as with the rest of the team but he’s very very consistent and classy on the ball too.
