Cardiff City midfield starlet Joe Ledley is set to lose his place in the Wales starting line-up for tonight’s Euro 2008 qualifier against San Marino in the Millenium Stadium.

The left-sided midfielder started in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in Croke Park but was withdrawn at half time as manager John Toshack was forced to re-shuffle his underperforming side. Ledley made way for Carl Fletcher on that occasion.

The 4 times capped player has been ever present for Cardiff City this season, in their impressive puch for a Championship play-off place. The youngster is highly versatile and has been playing in an unfamiliar left-back position of late.

Ledley is expected to miss out tonight and join fellow Bluebirds teammate Paul Parry on the Wales bench. The move is to accomodate the return from suspension of former Cardiff loan star Jason Koumas. The West Brom playmaker has the ability and cutting edge missing by Wales and is certain to start.

Cardiff born Jermaine Easter could also start while ex-Cardiff City centre-back James Collins could be the man to make way in a new look attacking formation for Wales as they chase goals against the group minnows San Marino.
