Cardiff City’s tenascious midfielder Willo Flood has joined Dundee United in the SPL on loan for the season. The player had failed to establish himself in Cardiff’s first team and needed some first team experience.

It was Cardiff’s impressive full-bhack Kevin McNaughton who sold the move to Willo and feels that Flood will impress in Scotland:

‘Willo asked me what it was up like in Scotland when he first heard of the interest from United. He was wanting an idea of what the football was really like.’

‘I recommended it and told him he’d be well suited to the football.’

‘There’s probably a bit more football played in Scotland compared to England.’

‘From that point of view he’ll relish it so I can only see him doing well.’

McNaughton moved from Aberdeen on a free transfer last summer and had an excellent first season at Championship level.
