Cardiff City’s veteran striker only has eyes for an FA Cup showdown with his former club Middlesborough after the two clubs were drawn against each other for a potential cup quarter final.

First Middlesborough must overcome Championship side Sheffield United after a 0-0 draw saw the teams require a replay to decide who faces Cardiff City next.

Cardiff striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink produced an inspired performance and stunning goal in City’s 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers to seal their place in the last 8. It’s certainly Middlesborough the former Chelsea player is hoping to face:

‘No disrespect to Sheffield United, but when the draw was made, I was instantly thinking about Middlesbrough.’

‘It would be an emotional occasion if I was able to go back. The supporters were magnificent to me and I would love the opportunity to play in front of them again.’

Hasselbaink was a popular figure on Riverside, scoring 23 goals between 2004-06 before joining Charlton Athletic and then moving to Cardiff City.
