After an up-and-down season, Cardiff City finished comfortably mid-table. A scintillating start was followed by a dismal end and the same players looked half as effective as previously.

VitalCardiff brings you an end of season review of each player. If you disagree then feel free to leave a comment at the foot of this article or e-mail Vital Bluebirds with an alternative review!!

The reviews will be published every weekday between 10-11am:

40 Darcy Blake

Darcy Blake is a young Welsh midfielder who looks to have a bright future ahead of him. He has not had the opportunity to make the same impression as Gunter yet but has shown glimpses of potention in his few appearances.

Blake has featured when the Cardiff midfield as a whole has been misfunctioning. He put in several energetic and tidy performances and has earnt 10 appearances in the league for Cardiff City so far – mostly from the bench.

It remains to be seen whether Balke will get a chance this season after the Bluebirds strengthened with the capture of Trevor Sinclair, Gavin Rae and one other to come. However, Riccy Scimeca may have to sit out some of the season again and Darcy Blake or Aaron Ramsey could come into contention.
