Kevin McNaughton has agree to join Cardiff City on a free transfer in July. The defender had been offered numerous contract extensions at current club Aberdeen but set his sights on playing in the English Leagues. McNaughton is primarily a right-back but can also operate at left-back or on the right on midfield. McNaughton attracted interest from many Championship sides and also from Fulham and Everton in the Premiership.

Sam Hammamm was excited by the signing, having watched McNaughton and been tracking him for almost 2 years. Hammam said: ‘Following Glenn Loovens signature, to secure another player of this stature so soon after the season has ended should be seen as a clear signal as to what our intentions are this summer.’

The 23 year old made 165 appearances for Aberdeen having risen through their youth ranks and has recently gained 2 Scottish caps.

Sounds a promising signing. Although in my experience Scotish players often fail to settle of fit in the nglish league.

At least he looks like a bit of a utility player and can cover anywhere on the back line. Always handy to have in a small squad.
