Cardiff City were known to have rejected bids for several of their players. Two players were subject to increased bids (also rejected) – one of whom is teenage prodigy Chris Gunter.
BBC Sport is reporting that Premiership club Everton made bids for the talented youngster who is a full Wales International at the age of just 17.
The youngster burst onto the scene and was handed a full start by Dave Jones against QPR. Gunter made many appearances over the season and looks a great prospect for the future.
We do not know the amounts of the bid, but it is good to see Cardiff hanging onto a homegrown youngster with bags of potential. He surely has a part to play for Cardiff this season and will compete with Kevin McNaughton for the right-back spot.
