Cardiff City midfielder Nick McKoy is set jo join Torquay United on-loan until the end of the season.

The youngster joined in the summer after being released from MK Dons along with teammate Malvin Kamara. Whilst Kamara has broken onto the first team scene and is a regular fixture on the City bench, McKoy has struggled so far and made just one Bluebirds appearance during the 2-0 Carling Cup defeat by Barnet back in August.

McKoy is only 20, but a dominant force in midfield. He was not used when Cardiff were suffering injuries in midfield with another youngster, Darcy Blake, preferred as cover and Dave Jones is not ready to risk him at Championship level yet.

McKoy should get game time with the Gulls and boss Richard Hancox was delighted with his new acquisition:

‘He is due to train with us and sign on loan until the end of the season, so he will be eligible for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Southampton.’

‘He’s tall, strong and a capable lad. We’ve had good reports about him.’
