Cardiff City reserve goalkeeper Mark Howard has joined local rivals Swansea City on loan for an initial period of 1 month.

Howard has made just one first team start for the Bluebirds, in the 2-0 Carling Cup 1st round defeat to Barnet where Howard looked shaky and was partly liable for both goals.

Since joining from Arsenal during the summer, the 19 year old has seen himself as understudy to current number 1 Neil Alexander and was left off the bench on several occasions by Dave Jones. His place as number 2 has now been taken by Irishman David Forde with Martyn Margetson and youngster Scott Allison as back-up.

Willy Gueret is the current number 1 with Swansea City, who lie in 8th position in Coca-Cola league 1. Howard joined up with the squad this morning as cover for the injured goalkeeper Andy Oakes.

Decent move for the lad but cant see him getting any gametime, seems like he’s on the way out of Cardiff.
