Cardiff City are keeping a close eye on the situation of Southampton striker Leon Best.
Best, 20, is a tall and powerful striker who also possesses good pace. He is out of contract at Southampton and has rejected their offer of a new deal. Despite being rated, Best has spent most of his time on loan and scored 10 goals in 15 appearances for Yeovil Town this season. Best started the play-off semi-final against Derby setting up a goal before hitting through his own net and missing his penalty in the shoot-out.
Cardiff City are searching for a striker after missing out on top transfer target Chris Killen. Best may be a realistic option given his availability on a free transfer.
However, if Cardiff do make an offer, they will face stiff competition for the player with Coventry City and Stoke also thought to be interested.

Sounds ideal, and if saints and stoke both want him………
more to the point: his name even fits the Peter Thorne/Steven Thompson Magic song!!! :p
Not exactly proven is he….. may be worth a punt though
