Cardiff City could be set to go extravagent in their search for goals next season by signing ANOTHER striker.

VitalCardiff understands that the Bluebirds want to increase their sriking power and have made tentative enquiries about Birmingham City’s Rowan Vine and DJ Campbell.

The Bluebirds already have Steve MacLean and Michael Chopra to start up front with Jason Byrne, Matt Green, Warren Feeney and Steve Thompson as back-up. However, a freak groin injury to transfer-listed Thompson may mean another new striker incoming for City.

The two Birmingham boys are names linked with City but are differing types of players. Rowan Vine was the subject of a Cardiff bid back in January but they were out-priced by Birmingham’s interest. Now it seems that the Bluebirds may be back in for their former target following Birmingham’s promotion to the Premiership.

However Peter Ridsdale has stuck by his silence policy saying of 3 prospective new signings:

“We are close, we are talking to a number of people.’

“But we will only talk about the players we are going for when they have signed for Cardiff City.”

Not surprised DJ and Vine have been mentioned as they aren’t up to Premiership standard!

you need his goals to get you into the PL, and the PL needs a welsh team in it.
