Cardiff City travel the short distance over the bridge to The West Country for a long awaited derby clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The last time we played there was the play-off final in 2003 when a nil nil draw ensured that Peter Thorne’s home goal was enough to allow progression to the final and we all remember what happened there – expecially Andy Campbell!

Now we head back to the West Country with fortunes somewhat different, Bristol City are riding high in the play-off places of the Championship with a useful squad and impressive manager.

Cardiff City have problems off the pitch, and are struggling on it and languish nearer the foot of the table. That said, results and performances have picked up recently and we travel in good hope.

Its great to finally have a proper derby game to look forward to and enjoy. Hopefully we can come away with the points and thoroughly enjoy the day at the hospitality of our Wurzel friends.

Bluebirds……!
