Cardiff City’s impressive run of results was ended by promotion chasing Stoke City last weekend but the Bluebirds are still bang in form and well placed marginally outside the play-off places.

The recent upturn in fortunes, which saw manager Dave Jones bag the manager of the month award for January, has raised optimism in South Wales and a recent poll on the is Vital Cardiff City website asked opinions on Cardiff City’s position come May and the end of the season:

Champions. 7%
Runners-Up. 7%
Play-off Winners. 24%
Play-Off Losers. 19%
Just Outside Play-Offs. 25%
Mid Table. 5%
Just Above Relegation 1%
Relegated. 12%

A significant 43% of visitors to the site think we’ll end the season in the play-off zone – a dramatic turnaround after disasterous early season form.

Even more optimistic were those beleiving automatic promotion was the most likely result but the majority 25% thought we’d just fall short of the play-offs.

There isn’t that long of the season to go and every point is potentially valuable. The January transfer window was negotiated fairly successfully and the squad remained largely intact, now with the right attitude and a bit of luck we can push on and continue to climb the table.
