Cardiff City have in no way finished their summer rebuilding drive with more players expected to join before the season starts.

However, it seems the old problems (lack of training facilities etc) are coming up stronger than ever and the sale of such an influential player (Michael Chopra) has not helped attract players to South Wales.

We have made contact with 7 prospective signings in the last 24 hours alone but are not being helped by clubs now inflating their valuations knowing that Cardiff have received close to £5m for Chopra. Clubs know we have money to spend and are increasing valuationsa accordingly.

“Because they know we`ve got some money, everywhere we turn now we are just being asked silly money for players we just believe aren`t worth it,” Ridsdale told the Western Mail.

“We are not going to be held to ransom like that any more. We`ve got to be sensible and stick to what we believe are fair prices.”

We have been warned not to expect any announcements this weekend but surely there will be activity in the next week as we try to get players in before the season starts.
