Cardiff City defender Roger Johnson has finally put pen to paper on a new deal with the club taking him up to 3 seasons. The deal had been agreed some time ago, but some fans were becoming anxious given the scenario of Robbie Fowler – who stalled continuously whilst waiting for a better offer.

Johnson is a key player for us, voter supporter’s player of the season last time round, and his committment is a big boost. Hopefully, his centre-back partner Glenn Loovens will follow the lead and also commit his future though the Dutchman is keen to play in the Premiership.

Johnson had been attracting interest from Championship clubs with Ipswich Town particularly keen whilst Middlesbrough also showed some interest.
