Cardiff City centre-back Roger Johnson has put in some highly impressive performances of late and the former-Wycombe man could become a suprise contender for ‘Player-Of-The-Season’.

Since arriving from Wycombe, under the noses of our rivals Swansea City, Roger initially found first team opportunities hard to come by. Suspensions and injuries to Purse and Loovens the first choice pairing, allowed him to make several appearances but he was always dropped again to make way for one of the others returning.

During the latter part of the season, however, Johnson has been the rock around which the Cardiff City defence has gathered. Some towering performances have been impressing fans and he has been named man-of-the-match in back to back home games now.

Powerful in the air, and sure on the ground he adds some neat passes and through balls to the attack whilst he is also a threat in the air and has scored twice in recent weeks (vs Preston and Sheff Wed.

Described by team-mate Malvin Kamara as ‘the second biggest troublemaker at the club’ (behind Michael Chopra). Johnson has a mischievous side and has gelled in well with his team-mates.

Johnson has enjoyed a very good first season to date, and we look forward to seeing him in plenty more appearances for the Bluebirds.

Chopra/johnson/mcnaughton for me – they’re all new this season – so if we sign three more like that this summer – we’re laughing!!!
