Cardiff City midfielder Willo Flood could make a return to Dundee United where he spent last season on loan, but the transfer depends on The Tangerines losing one of their brightest prospects.

Flood impressed at Tannadice, excelling in the SPL and putting in some excellent performances. He and his family settled well in the area but a permanent move looked out of reach with Cardiff City looking to recoup the £200k they paid Manchester City for Flood.

However, SPL giants Rangers have been carefully looking at Frenchman Morgaro Gomis with a view to an offer. The reported fee would be around £800k for the talented youngster and would free up cash for a bid for Willo Flood.

Dundee United are not keen on selling Gomis, but both club and player could be tempted by a big money move for a player who cost nothing from Cowdenbeath. For now, Willo remains a Cardiff City player with matters out of his, and our hands.
