Watford FC manager Aidy Boothroyd has blamed Cardiff City for a ‘six studded present’ for subsequent injury to defender Jay Demerit.
Demerit played the full 90 minutes of Watford’s slightly fortunate 2-1 win at Cardiff but had to withdrawn at half-time in Watford’s disappointing draw with Championship strugglers QPR.
Boothroyd explained the problem to the Hornet’s official site:
‘He took a very nasty blow to the calf, a six-studded present from Wales.’
I don’t think Boothroyd can complain about what he took away from South Wales, the Hornets stealing all three points courtesy of Cardiff defensive blunders, a back-four never having played together, and Dave Jones believing his Bluebirds had done enough for the win themselves.
Better check the Cardiff players for any boots with 6 studs…..
