Cardiff City Football Club today celebrates one of the most famous moments in it’s and English Football’s history.

Today, 23rd April, is the day that Cardiff City won the F.A.Cup back in 1927, 80 years ago.

Cardiff City won the final after a Hughie Ferguson shot was fumbled by Arsenal’s Welsh goalkeeper Dan Lewis and Cardiff City beat the Gunners 1-0 to lift the trophy and secure one of the proudest moments in Welsh Sporting History.

It is the only time that the prestigious cup has left England, and prompted a name change in the cup.

The players, led by celebrated captain Fred Keenor, returned home to jubilant scenes in Cardiff, and the year of 1927 will always be remembered by fans of Cardiff City.
