Cardiff City’s young striker Natanieal Jarvis has been allowed to go on trial at Southend United, where he will tonight take part in a friendly match against Stevenage.

With the potent strikeforce available to Dave Jones (Bothroyd, Chopra, Bellamy, Keogh etc), it seems unlikely Jarvis would get a chance at the CCS – however, he has been names on the bench of late due to injuried to Bothroyd, Chopra and Bellamy.

Jarvis is a pacy and athletic forward who has been tipped for a bright future in the game, however, in order to develop he will need gametime and with no reserve team, the Bluebirds are ill-placed to offer that.

It is not yet known whether the trial is with a view to a loan or permanent move.
