Cardiff City’s promising youngster Darcy Blake has joined up with fellow Championship side Plymouth Argyle for an initial 4 month period.

Blake is a current Wales U21 International but has barely featured for the Cardiff City first team despite being a regular squad member and unused substitute. He has always looked promising in his rare appearances but needs regular first team football if he is to progress.

The Bluebirds already have a surplus of full-backs with McNaughton, Kennedy, Quinn, Capaldi, Comminges and Adam Matthews at the club while the arrivals of Etuhu and Solomon Taiwo to bolster the midfield has further diminished Darcy’s chances of getting a game.

With Plymouth, Blake will hopefully have a chance to play mopre regularly and come back an improved player. Bluebirds fans have long questioned the reasoning behind Blake continually failing to play or go out on loan.

For Blake to join a club in the same league, despite a lack of gametime is a testament to his potential – best of luck Darcy.
