Cardiff City defender Adedeji Oshilaja has joined Newport County on a one month loan deal and will hopefully get some useful League 2 action under his belt to aid his development. Oshilaja is highly thought of by the City coaching set-up and is one of a current crop of players in and around the first team squad.

At 20, and with very little first team experience, Oshilaja is unlikely to feature for the Bluebirds this season though the emergence of Declan John and his debut against West Ham confirms all our youngsters should remain hopeful of making the squad.

Speaking of the loan deal, NCFC manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Sport:

‘We’ve had to reinforce and Cardiff has helped us. It was necessary that we did it. We have eight senior players injured at the present time and we’re not able to cope with that.’

‘The board have backed me to bring reinforcements in and we’re delighted to have done so.’

Best of luck to Oshilaja, hopefully he gets some gametime and we’ll keep an eye on his progress.
