Cardiff City have several injury doubts ahead of this weekends game. Robbie Fowler and Riccardo Scimeca are both in full training but neither was risked in the midweek friendly on the advice of the Cardiff physio staff.

The Bluebirds are missing Scottish defender Kevin McNaughton and striker Steve Thompson with hamstring injuries. Chris Gunter will make his first league start at rightback.

Tony Capaldi should be fit to play at left back after recovering from a sore hip. He missed the Northern Ireland friendly after picking up the knock last weekend, but is expected to recover in time.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink impressed in the midweek friendly and will feature in the matchday 16.

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has his own injury concerns with influential midfielder Michael Hughes doubtful with a thigh strain. Stephen Hughes is the likely man to replace him.

David McNamee limped off partway through a reserve team game after failing to shake off a calf strain but Ellery Cairo is fit after a hernia opertion.

Cardiff City will have to watch for Julian Gray and the tricky Leon McKensie as well as the aerial threat of Dele Adebola in what promises to be a good encounter.
