Cardiff City’s clash against Burnley tomorrow is under scrutiny after heavy snowfall hit South Wales overnight, and has continued again this morning.

With 5cm already on the ground, and further heavy precipitation forecast – the club have shut the ground today, and advised fans to keep checking for updates.

With undersoil heavting installed, the pitch is not a major concern. However, the walkways around the stadium are likely to see further snow and compacted ice making conditions unsafe, especially given the 20000+ crowd expected for the match.

The club have been advised to take an early decision to cancel the match, should the forecast snow arrive. Burnely fans are also being advised not to travel.

Umm OK. We do have undersoil heating, and the pitch is fine. It’s the walkways that are the concern and the Burnley fans travel. Only match called off……..got that a bit wrong didnt you!
