Cardiff City’s season sufgfered a disappointly pre-mature end but as Chairman, manager and players de-brief – several players will be preparing for much-needed breaks and time to repair some fairly serious problems.

Kevin McNaughton is a key player and will hopefully be at the club next season. Several times he was forced off early clutching his hamstring, however, the Scots full-back has rarlye pulled/torn his hamstring. Instead, he has suffered posture problems and pressure in his lower back has caused him discomfort. Surgery is the likely step for McNaughton and hopefully he will return fitter than ever next year.

Roger Johnson is another set to go under the knife with a longstanding problem, thought to be knee related. Normally, he would have been out earlier but such is his importance, the decision was taken to delay his treatment until after the season.

Paul Parry is another with knee trouble and has been playing through games with pain-killing injections. His form was also off so he could have been rested in favour of Burke but Jones continues to pick the Welsh winger.

In addition Tony capaldi and Riccy Scimeca both underwent surgery early this season with neitehr returning to first team action save for a few minutes.

The attitude and culture change to be undergone by the squad may mean some departures and new faces. McNaughton and Johnson are both crucial players for us, perhaps their surgeries will put off potential buyers – no doubt the rumours will persist regardless.

So Parry was injured aswell as being awful? Why oh why was he picked? I’d rather have seen McCormack, Ledley, Whittingham, Commingues or even Capaldi on the left before him.

Parry on his day gave us pace, attacking threat and caused problems aswell as opeing space for others. Sdaly, I cant remember his last good game….Barnsley at home?!?
