Cardiff City’s in-form winger Peter Whittingham is being touted as a transfer target for Premiership Euro contenders Sunderland who will fund a January transfer spree to bolster their attempts to stay in the top 10.

Whittingham was disappointing last year but has been in sensational form this season and has been scoring goals for fun. He has already hit double figures for the season in October and was sure to attract interest.

Sunderland are a good side, and will likely have money to spend. Cardiff City do have Ross McCormack, Joe Ledley and Kelvin Etuhu vying for that left wing position so could be tempted to sell if an appropriate offer came in.

At present, this is pure speculation but expect a number of rumours to circulate regarding our players if we continue to ride high in the Championship.
