Cardiff City Star Desperate To Take On Jacks

Cardiff City’s injured frontman Jay Bothroyd is itching to get back into the action and is working hard to be fit for the away game against Swansea City at the end of the month.


Bothroyd has settled nicely after a slow start in Cardiff and has improved significantly as his partnership with McCormack grew. He began to find the net only to pick up an untimely hamstring injury during the 2-1 defeat to Wolves.


Now, the former Wolves player is hoping to step up his recovery and return in time for the trip to the Liberty Stadium where he hopes that himself, McCormack and new recruit Michael Chopra will pose a real threat to the Swans. Bothroyd told the Western Mail:


“I`ve just got to get on with it and make sure that I`m ready by the end of the month. I`m aiming to be available for selection for the Swansea game on November 30. That is my target.”

“After running yesterday I`m in a good mood and concentrating on other aspects of my game. I simply don`t like missing games, but you have to get your head around things and start being positive.”




On his potential partnership in a new system incorporating our most potent three strikers, Bothroyd added:


“I don`t mind who I play with, but it will be a nice problem for the manager to have when the three of us are fit and ready to go.”

“Chopra is a great acquisition to the side and will offer a different dimension to the team. Ross has been superb, scoring loads of goals for us. So I don`t see the three of us playing together as a problem.”



Who would make way for the three strikers? Presumably, McCormack would be the striker to play behind the front two or in a wide position. Let us know your thoughts…
