After an up-and-down season, Cardiff City finished comforably mid-table. A scintillating start was followed by a dismal end and the same players looked half as effective as previously.

VitalCardiff brings you an end of season review of each player. If you disagree then feel free to leave a comment at the foot of this article or e-mail Vital Bluebirds with an alternative review!!

The reviews will be published every weekday between 10-11am:

11 – PAUL PARRY

Paul Parry`s future at Cardiff City was in great doubt during the close season last year, he was not key to Dave Jones` plans and a move to Yeovil Town failed to materialise. Joe Ledley was to play at left midfield so Parry was trained and used on the right wing with spectacular success. The Welsh international enjoyed his best season as a Cardiff player and was key to Cardiff`s early season form.

Parry added pace to the Cardiff attacks and was able to cut inside onto his favoured left with great effect. A lovely finish against Wolves sealed a 4-0 win and saw the winger net his third in 10 games – a great return from midfield. He exhibited renewed confidence this season and showed a willingness to take on his man, while his crossing also seemed to have improved. Parry also contributed to his defensive duties and supported Kerrea Gilbert well.

As with the rest of the team, Parry`s form suffered from Christmas and he lost his way. Parry became too predictable in his cutting in and teams were able to easily nullify his threat. By suppressing McPhail, other sides were able to restrict quality possession to Parry and he began to look out of place on the right.

Parry ended the season with 6 goals having added a new dimension to his game, his versatility is an asset and he can do a good job on both wings. He is likely to start next season as a back-up player but Dave Jones allowing Willo Flood to leave on loan is testament to Parry`s progress. Parry didn`t let his side down but suffered some lapses in form which coincided with the team`s poor form. He is at his most dangerous in a confident team but has something to offer the current Bluebirds squad.
