Cardiff City Snap Up Man Utd Starlet

Cardiff City have announced the capture of Manchester United starlet Danny Drinkwater on a season-long loan deal, however, the deal cannot be rubber stamped until the transfer embargo imposed over late payment to the tax man has been lifted.

Drinkwater is a 20 year old midfielder who spent last season on-loan with Huddersfield Town in League 1. He made 33 league appearances, scoring 2 goals and impressing with some energetic and committed displays. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is thought to rate Drinkwater highly and was keen for him to join a Championship club where he can gain match experience.

Drinkwater has trained with the Bluebirds over the past few days and Dave Jones offered him a deal which has now been agreed in principle. Once HMRC officially withdraw their petition, the Football League will process the necessary paperwork.
