Cardiff City have signed an 18 year old Polish goalkeeper on a free transfer. Erwin Sak was a free agent and theefore eligible to sign outiside the transfer window having left previous club Sokol Pniewi in Poland.

Cardiff have struggled for goalkeeping options this season, initial loan signing Ross Turnbull proved a poor signing, while Michael Oakes has now lost his place to another loan player in Peter Enckelman from Blackburn Rovers. Kaseper Schmeichel enjoyed a successful period with the Bluebirds, but was recalled by Manchester City.

Sak has been named in the Cardiff City squad to face Newport County tonight and will look to impress when he gets a chance. However, Irishman David Forde is likely to start the game between the posts after keeping a clean sheet in the previous round.
