Cardiff City Say McCormack Can Leave

Cardiff City’s potent attacking welath is such that forward Ross McCormack has been made available for loan by City boss Dave Jones, according to the player’s agent.

With Craig Bellamy joining the likes of Chopra, Bothroyd, Koumas, Burke and Whittingham in providing real attacking thrust and goals, the Bluebirds are blessed with an abundance of talent. Bellamy is able to operate in attack or from a wider role if required, a position McCormack has adapted to in order to find first team opportunities.

McCormack’s agent, Willie McKay told skysports.com:

‘It is amazing how fortunes can change so quickly in football as just 12 months ago Cardiff rejected offers of over £3million for Ross and now they are willing to let him leave on loan.’

‘Unfortunately Ross has been messed about by a few interested teams, but Ross just wants to go out and play football whether it is a permanent deal or a loan move.’

‘Ross is a proven goalscorer for club and country and whoever ends up getting him will be getting a great signing as he will help them challenge for honours.’

McCormack remains a popular player at the CCS, and it’s been disappointing to see him lose confidence, pace and his goals dry up. Since Bellamy is only a loan player at the club, it would make sense to loan McCormack out for a season – but he would surely prefer a permanent switch.

Rosco needs first team football, and in truth he seems unlikely to be able to force his way past Chopra and Bellamy for his preferred striker role. Ipswich Town and Hull City have expressed strong interest in recent weeks, while there is likely to be other interest from the Championship and SPL.
