Cardiff city have terminated the contract of Hungarian defender Gabor Gyepes by mutual consent- he hasbarely featured for the Bluebirds this season and has now left the club so is free to seek employment elsewhere. As a free agent, he can also join a new club outside of the transfer window.

The defender previously revealed he would not play for former manager Dave Jones again but was handed a lifeline after Jones left the club during the summer of last year. However he has also failed to break into manager Malky Mackay’s first team plans and was always likely to leave after the capture of fellow defender Ben Turner -signalling Mackay’s intentions to bolster his defensive line.

Gyepes has rarely been first choice since joining Northampton Town but has provided decent cover at times. We wish him all the best for the future.
