Although beaten just once in all competitions this season, Cardiff City are desperately lacking in their attacking options after a series of snubs over the summer. The likes of Kris Boyd, Emile Mpenza, Robbie Fowler, Marcus Bent were all examples of high profile players who eventually turned down the Bluebirds.
Since then Jay Bothroyd has been recruited and American Eddie Johnson has looked a complete dud since joining on loan from Fulham. Only Ross McCormack has scored since arriving, and doubts remain as to his rol as an out-and-out goalscorer – the one area Dave Jones promised to strengthen.
It has now emerged we were turned down by another striker in Matt Moussilou – a 26 year old Frenchman who is club contracted at Nice but spent last season on loan in Qatar with Al Arabi Doha.

Moussilou cost almost £3m in 2006 but failed miserably with the French Champions, losing his place and spending loan periods with a number of clubs.
Cardiff City were one of several clubs courting Moussilou during the summer, but it has now emerged that we were against turned down meaning we had to drop further down the list of prospective strikers.
Surely we will need to look again in January for a natural goalscorer. When will we learn?

every club suffers setbacks and we are no different excpet ours publicly come out.
i’m sure if we are still in the top six in january a prolific striker will want to join to fire us possibly into the premier league.
If not in top six then maybe we’ll struggle.
won’t it be too late by then? will we miss out because of a poor summer in the transfer market? this division is tough enough as it is
i sed IF we are in top six!!
i agree its tough thats why i sed we’ll struggle
We have a great young squad, if we dont make a real push soon – they will all have to leave to fulfil their ambitions…
can hardly blame them, who would want to play at ninian park.
Ummm lets see. Roger Johnson? Who received a £4m offer recently.. He turned you down for us. Yawn.
judging from tuesday he’s nowhere near a £4m player
judging from tuesday, seein you only managed to beat a 10-man cardiff team, 1-0 at home, shows you WILL struggle
agree bluebird04!
my sentiments exactly and as a cardiff fan i admit we were poor and the jacks still struggled to win
