Cardiff City’s final home game of the season ended in an emphatic victory over a Barnsley side clearly ready for their end of season break.

Paul Parry returned for the Bluebirds and got the first goal with a neat finish from Ledley’s pull-back moments before half time.

After the break, Cardiff continues to play the better football but the second goal owed to Luke Steele’s shocking howler as he dropped McNaughton’s effort over the line. Kev looked as embarrassed as anyone!

It soon became three as Ramsey’s run down the left created a half chance before Ledley finished from the far post. The Tykes’ defending was shambolic to be truthful, this time you could see exactly why Barnsley have struggled against relegation this year.

The atmosphere at Ninian Park was bouncing now with crisp passing roundly cheered. Loovens, Capaldi and Parry were withdrawn to safeguard against injury.

Aaron Ramsey showed some glimpses of skill, a powerful shot parried and one sublime 50 yard pass in what may have been his last Ninian Park appearance as a Cardiff City player.

A decent workout, the right result and an improvement for Cardiff City. This was much better preparation for the FA Cup final with Parry slotting back in comfortably and the defence more solid than of late.
