Cardiff City Offer ‘Double Money’ To Ledley

Cardiff City recently offered a new contract to star midfielder Joe Ledley after nearly a year of uncertainty regarding the Welsh International`s future. However, after no firm bids were made during the summer transfer window, Ledley`s short term future now seems certain to be at CCS. This has caused a change in his agent`s stance and it emerged that Joe was now happy to discuss a new deal at the club subject to a minimum fee release clause allowing him to leave for a pre-determined fee if a Premiership club came calling.

Speaking to Bluebirds fans last night, Peter Ridsdale confirmed that the new contract on off to Ledley is a FOUR year deal – offering excellent security regardless of injuries etc and crucially that the new offer would DOUBLE his current wage at the club and placing him well outside the wage structure on many Championship clubs.

The new contract could be signed at any point, but has been rumbling on for some time now. Alternatively, Ledley could sit tight until January whereby he could sign a pre-contractual agreement and leave for peanuts. He will not want to do that, but is desperate to play in the Premiership.

Wales manager John Toshack recently made bizarre and simply inaccurate claims that the uncertaincy was affecting Joe`s form. I can only assume Toshack hasn`t seen Ledley this season as he has put in some impressive performances and looks full of confidence.
