Cardiff City are said to be closely watching the situation regarding MK Dons defender Miguel Angel Llera after the Spaniard turned down a contract extension with the Dons. Llera enjoyed an impressive end to the campaign and has attracted interest from several Championship clubs with Doncaster Rovers especially interested. He has only a month remaining on his contract and will be available on a free transfer from 1st July.

Cardiff City are in the market for a new centre-back (or possibly two) following the departure of Darren Purse to Sheffield Wednesday. Darren Dennehy is also on the Bluebirds’ books but failed to make any impact on the first team squad and could be set to leave. We have confirmed interest in Charlton Atheltic defender Mark Hudson having failed to land the Addicks captain back in January.

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has a great track record of bringing central defenders to the club. Darren Purse was a very astute signing just after Dave took over while he has unearthed gems in the forms of Roger Johnson, Glenn Loovens and Gabor Gyepes.
