Cardiff City`s young goalkeeper Tom Heaton could be in-line for a recall to the Bluebirds starting XI after the recent surgery to Peter Enckelman – he will compete with new loan acquisition Dimi Konstantopoulos for the number 1 shirt. However, despite sitting on the bench for the last couple of months at City, Heaton was selected to start in last nights England U21 match against Ecuador.

The U21s of England had been unbeaten for a long stretch before this game, but came unstuck despite taking a 2 goal lead as the Ecuadorians fought back to steal a late 3-2 win. Heaton will have been disappointed to be beaten through his legs at the near post by Palacios but was also left vulnerable by some dubious defending.

Dave Jones is expected to select the on-loan Manchester United player for Monday`s clash against Arsenal in the FA Cup as new Greek stopper Dimi settles in.

Had to feel sorry for him really. Quite awful defending from a couple of players who really should know better in all honesty for 2 of the 3. Has a long way to go to oust Joe Lewis and Joe Hart from the squad though for the Euros in Sweden.
