Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall has been called up to the Scotland squad to face Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup next weekend.

Marshall has recently been number one for the Scots but is likely to be behind Craig Gordon after the Sunderland man returned from injury recently.

Marshall has doe well so far for the Bluebirds but is coming under pressure after showing a steadfast reluctance to leave his line and collect crosses. Another Scottish goalkeeper not selected will have sympathy for that with Neil Alexander showing similar tendencies dueing his time at Cardiff City.

Gavin Rae has not been selected after making the squad last time round, but he aswell as McNaughton and McCormack may feature in the near future.
