Cardiff City have completed the signing of a Hungarian International Gabor Gyepes for a fee of around £200k – enough to trigger a release clause at previous club Northampton Town.
The 27 year old is known to Dave Jones following a spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he impressed. However, Gyepes has struggled with injuries – a knee injury keeping him on the sidelines for much of the season in 2006.
Gyepes is a direct replacement for Glenn Loovens, who joined Celtic last week but while we were told that no players needed to be sold – fans will want to see more of the £2.5m fee recieved spent on re-enforcing other areas.
A poll is now open asking for your thoughts on this signing – sure to be controversial once again. My feeling is that Gyepes can do nothing about his proce tag, but is a good player if he remains injury free. Any player pulling on the Bluebirds shirt is deserving of our support and whilst his commitment and effort remains – he’s a Cardiff City player and I’ll be right behind him.
