Cardiff City left Portman Road with a creditable point last night after a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town. Unfortunately it doesn’t look enough and the play-offs look a little further away this morning.

Cardiff did well after a slow start when Lee, Miller and De Vos all failed to take their chances. However, the Cup hangover soon wore off.

A Ramsey free-kick went close before Cardiff took an undeserved lead. The goal was pure Ramsey class as the teenager completely outfoxed an Ipswich defender before delivering to Rae on a plate.

Cardiff sorted out their defensive frailties and looked more solid, restricting Ipswich well but City were visibly flagging and conceeded an unfortunate equaliser. With the ball deflecting all over the place, it eventually fell to Ipswich’s own young talent and Jordan Rhodes finished neatly.

Cardiff were rescued moments from time when Danny Haynes volleyed home, however the goal was ruled out – though I couldn;t tell what for. Offside maybe? Some people seemed to think Glenn Loovens was fouled but it doesn’t really matter.

Play-offs look remote, the players look shattered but we’re unbeaten in 9.
