Cardiff City fans do not want to see Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink lining up again for the Bluebirds next season although many are prepared to give fellow veteran Robbie Fowler another shot at firing City into the play-offs.
A recent poll on this Vital Cardiff City website invited readers opinion on what to do with our aging pair of strikers after neither particularly impressed last season.
Offers have been made to both players, on ‘pay-as-you-play’ deals and both will consider their futures carefully.
The results of the poll were as follows:
Keep Robbie, lose Jimmy. (44%)
Lose both. (32%)
Dave Jones knows best (11%)
Keep Jimmy, lose Robbie. (8%)
Keep both. (5%)
Robbie Fowler obviously faring better with the supporters although there was support for allowing both to leave the club.
It’s never up to us, but whilst some fans had reservations – both players were largely welcomed to the club at the beginning of the season. New blood is needed, and if either of the veterans remains – they will need to impress to get into the starting line-up.
