Cardiff City scouts must be qualified for Scotland through residency by now with another player North of the Border attracting the Bluebirds attention.

McCormack and Burke joined from Scottish clubs last season, joining Thompson, Rae and McNaughton who also represented us over the campaign.

Now, it’s Motherwell skipper Paul Quinn attracting the interest with Cardiff City again looking for cheap players with potential.

Quinn is a right back by trade – a position held by Kevin McNaughton normally. However, super Kev is just as adept playing on the left side of defence and has impressed in that position in the past. In fact, some believe left-back is his strongest position. That is testiment to his quality and versatility but while he is comfortable on the left, McNaughton is right-footed and does feel slightly happier on that side.

Capaldi and Comminges are both available for transfer, while Mark Kennedy is getting on a bit and Darcy Blake likely to move on loan.
