Cardiff City are closely monitoring Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson and are considering putting in a bid for the 22 year old Canadian International.

Cardiff City have Jay Bothroyd, Michael Chopra and the unsettled Ross McCormack in the striking ranks with youngster Josh Magennis and the injured Warren Feeney as cover. Eddie Johnson was the 4th striker last year and has yet to be replaced.

Simeon Jackson has scored 24 goals in 60 appearances for Gillingham and has attracted interest from a host of Championship clubs. He has 2 years remaining on his current deal and would command a hefty transfer fee though the Gills are understood to be resigned to his leaving should ‘serious’ bids arise.

Cardiff City have yet to replace outgoing winger Paul Parry and there are no signs as yet of the four players reportedly wanted by Dave Jones.

    just rubbish again this is!
    all the rumours are rubbish.
sources from the echo claim routledge is coming back, belive that when i see it!
biggest mistake we made was not coughing up 750k for andrew surman. would have been a class act on the left!!!
personally i think we should have hijacked ricky lambert signing to southampton. At the end of the day we want a classy fourth striker and one who guarantees goals! LAMBERT fills all that criteria a wise buy by alan pardew if i say so myself proven goalscorer.
Ah well lets hope we do get one or 2 more faces in as this team ISN’T good enough to hit top six yet again, we’re improving but not enough. I just want to see us bite the bullet one year and actually go for it!!
