Cardiff City’s new signing Anthony Gerrard is keen and raring to go having secured his dream move to the Championship. The ambitious defender revealed his desire to help Cardiff City reach the Premiership and is looking forward to his new start.
Gerrard revealed the stadium, stature and ambition of the club were key reasons behind the move whilst also stating his admiration for the passion of the Bluebirds supporters. He told BBC Sport:
‘As soon as I heard that Cardiff were interested in me I never gave it a second thought. I came down and had a look around and all the facilities here really are top notch.’
‘The fans are known to be very passionate and will get behind the team, which is important.’
‘I also know the ‘Ayatollah’ and will make sure when I’m asked to do it I get it right first time.’
Apparently the ayatollah is more well know that previously! gone are the days when a longer-serving player (normally Willie Boland…) had to instruct any new signing on the field after much frowning and confusion!
A 100% committed, no nonsense defender, Gerrard looks set to be a firm favourite at the Cardiff City Stadium – we haven’t even seen him play yet!

i live in swansea, and all the swans fans i know admitted that scotland gut was a mile offside when he scored against us, you jacks were just lucky last year, lets see you do it again this year!!
