Cardiff City have confirmed the well publicised deal to bring QPR forward Tommy Smith to South Wales – the deal had been on the cards for some time but Smith completed his medical and signed terms today on a 2 year deal with City paying a fee thought to be around £300K to Rangers.

Smith is a lively and experienced attacker, primarily a striker but also equally adept operating in a wide right role. That is an exciting prospect for City with Heidar Helguson up-front and Bellamy and Smith adding width and significant goal threat from either flank.

Smith will go straight into the matchday squad to face Bristol City tomorrow, and provides even more competition for places with Kim Bo Kyung yet to arrive!

Welcome to Cardiff City Tommy Smith.
