Cardiff City have completed the well publicised deal for Sunderland striker Frazier Campbell – who joins for a miserly looking fee – thought to be around £650K up front with a further fee if City are promoted. Sunderland were prepared to accept a lower price for the striker since he is out-of-contract in 6 months and they wished to encourage City to meet the player’s hefty wage demands.

Campbell joins Helguson, Mason, Bellamy and Gestede as the main strikers this season – Nicky Maynard is out of action until the end of the season. He will add pace, and a clinical eye for goal with the former Manchester United man looking to score more goals than we are currently able to manage. A proven goalscorer will definitely help in that regard.

Campbell will link up with his new team-mates immediately, the Bluebirds are currently on a warm weather training camp in Dubai – a perfect opportunity for Campbell to familiarise himself with his new colleagues.
