Cardiff City are reportedly nearing the signing of a foreign striker, desperately needed to bolster our weak attacking line. After bids for Kris Boyd and Marcus Bent failed, the Echo understands our new target is from Europe and a deal may be close.
Peter Ridsdale said:
‘We have made a substantial offer for a player and we are hopeful of completing the deal quickly.’
‘I am talking to his agent, but we will keep the identity of the player private until we know exactly where we are.’
The sooner the better for Bluebirds fans after a frustrating summer. The more pre-season time, the more settled the player – especially important if a foreigner.
The club are understandably coy on the player’s identity. Hopefully we will find out soon, AFTER contracts have been signed!
