Cardiff City are set for a complete overhaul of the goalkeeping department after confirming that Michael Oakes will be released along with Irishman David Forde.

Oakes was number 2 for much of this season, although he had numerous opportunities to impress. However, the experienced stopper was out of contract and will be released by the club.

David Forde cost Cardiff City a fee before last summer, but has barely featured. A loan move to Bournemouth saw him impress, and his fortune may well lie North of the border with Aberdeen strongly linked.

Peter Enckelman (released by Blackburn Rovers) and Tom Heaton (on loan from Manchester United) are both widely expected to sign for Cardiff City shortly while the third goalkeeping position will go to Polish youngster Erwin Sak.

Best of luck to Oakes and Forde.
