Cardiff City play host to Leeds United tomorrow night, with the rest of the Championship in action today giving our rivals the chance to open up a gap at the top of the Championship following our slip to fifth in the league.

Given our recent form – it is perhaps more pertinant that several teams below us in the table would have the chance to close the gap on us – especially some teams with genuine promotion aspirations and in good form.

League leaders QPR fell behind to Bristol City, fresh from their 3-0 victory over us. However, Rangers came from behind to take the lead before Caulker netted a late equaliser moments after a superb save by Kenny.

Swansea City climbed into second place this week, but failed to impress during a disappointing performance at Leicester City. Scott Sinclair equalised an early Berner goal, but Darius Vassell regained the lead for the Foxes who looked comfortable in the second half.

Norwich City would also have been hoping for a win at lowly Middlesbrough. Gant Holt continued his hot streak with a goal, but Boro equalised through a lucky deflection.

Nottingham Forest are continuing their march up the table and scored a valuable win away at Ipswich Town.

Watford‘s game against Scunthorpe United was hit by prolonged delays due to floodlight failure, but the Hornets were being held 1-1.

Doncaster Rovers and Reading are both in the top half and gained wins today over Sheff Utd and Burnley respectively.

All-in-all a very encouraging set of results for Cardiff City with Swansea losing, QPR managing only a draw nad Norwich being held. That means that (pending Watford result) no team in the top six won today – about all we could hope for.

Of course, none of that matters unless we can shake our current form and get a result tomorrow night. Leeds United will be a very tough proposition – but we really need a win, or at least not to lose the game. A win, and the table would suddenly look a whole lot more agreeable with 2nd place ours with a win.
